I am compelled to tell you my story. Carchedi Estate Sales was hired to handle a sister-in-law's estate and then a year later, to handle my brothers. Thom Carchedi gave an ORAL CONTRACT to take care of my brother's estate over the phone--and the day before items were picked up, called to confirm the 8 AM pickup time. Over the phone, his consignment fees were agreed to and Carchedi promised a check for payment within 3-6 months. The day of the pickup, 2 persons came, loaded items and transported them for sale.
After 9 months, payment had not yet been received. Upon calling Carchedi, he was belligerent and claimed to not even recognize the account. Finally, after a couple more phone conversations, he gave me a name and number to call as he did recall "GIVING THE CONTRACT" to Swanson's Moving. I have never heard of an individual or business passing along a contract. I did not have the opportunity to hire a replacement vendor, and given my experience with Swanson's Moving, I wouldn't have hired them.
This whole event has affected the whole family, as we are still reeling with the loss of a loved one. I feel that Carchedi Estate Sales promised us representation that we did not get. I have turned over this situation to BBB Serving Southern Arizona as even in a recent phone call Thom Carchedi used the "F-word" over the telephone and proceeded to hang up on me.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY as they lack professionalism and have a total disregard for grieving families.

I have never posted on a site like this before, but after my experience with Thom Carchedi this morning at a reputable estate sale, (Not Carchedi Estate Sales) I felt compelled to share my experience with my fellow estate sale enthusiasts. Upon my arrival at 5:15a.m. to said estate sale, Thom felt it his obligation to educate me on estate sale protocol. I felt an uneasiness in his presents and chose to leave and return when more customers were present, because I was alone and it was still dark out. Because I chose to leave and not wait for ticket hand-out this businessman became verbally aggressive, shouting excessive profanities at me. I was thoroughly disgusted and appalled at the manner in which this business man conducted himself.
I am a native Tucsonan who has enjoyed attending business estate sales for the past 25 years. I can without a doubt say that I have never experienced such a horrific encounter. I believe this man's conduct speaks volumes of his character (or shall I say lack of).
Our Tucson business community deserves better.

Most everything was overpriced. Bought something that didn't work and they wouldn't refund $4. A small price to pay -- will never darken their doors again!! It was the principle not the $4.
