Our house had Our house had not been painted in 19 years. We wanted to have it painted to prepare it to sell. At first I contacted a painter who works for a local builder. He gave me an estimate of $1,250 and said that if the windows weren't scraped, filled, primed and painted that they would have to be replaced in 2 years. When this painter could not start for another 3 weeks, he referred me to Hernandez Painting who does work for a local builder. .Alfredo Hernandez contact me the same day, and came by our house to look at the house on Tuesday March 9th, 2010. He called me and said that he would honor the previous estimate and that he would start as soon as the weather was good for painting. He did not want to do the job if it was too cold which would result in a poor quality job. We were having a cold spell and I was concerned about the paint. I asked him what type of paint and products he used. Alfredo responded that he used high quality products (i.e. Sherwin Williams or Pittsburg Paint SunProof for exterior front door) that would be appropriate for exterior work. My husband and I were concerned about the old caulk looking so bad because it had a reddish stain from blowing West Texas dirt. Alfredo explained how he would prepare and paint each part of the house and that he would do a professional job. He asked if I would be available to open the front and back doors so that they could finish the trim around the doors to ensure a finished job. I asked if he could give me an hour notice so that I could leave work to meet him.

A few days later on Friday the 12th, the weather warmed up and Alfredo called to let me know that he could start. He and his crew started and finished the job in one day. He called me about 1:30 in the afternoon and said that he would be ready in about an hour to paint the doors as we had previously discussed. I have at least two other conversations with Alfredo to coordinate the job and each time he was responsive and promptly called me back. When I arrived at the house, I was pleasantly surprised to see a fresh coat of paint on the trim and windows in the front. The old paint was worn and patchy and the new paint was smooth and clean. The old paint around the windows was flaky and pelling and there was bare wood exposed on the sills. All of the window trim had been professionally prepped, primed with Killz and painted. The windows looked as new as they possibly could.

Alfredo also bought a gallon of dark green paint that matched our front door exactly. I was concerned that the paint color wouldn't match because we did not have any original paint to help them match. The paint he bought matched exactly and I no longer have that old, streaky thick paint lines that were on the front door. It now looks smooth and freshly painted. The edges where the dark green paint of the front door meets the white paint on the inside is nice and straight.

I was also pleased that there were no paint drips around my bushes or on the back patio.where they had painted under the eaves. They were finished at 4 pm and started their clean up and put everything back where it belonged. It was a pleasure doing business with the Hernandez's, he and his wife were personable and friendly. Everything went smoothly from start to finish, and they did, indeed, do a professional job. I would not hesistate to have anyone come and inspect the job they did at our home.
